Luke 3:7 (NLT) When the crowds came to John for baptism, he said, “You brood of snakes!...
1 Corinthians 2:9-10 (MSG)

...The experts of our day haven’t a clue about what this eternal plan is.

If they had, they wouldn’t have killed the Master of the God-designed life on a cross.

That’s why we have this Scripture text:

No one’s ever seen or heard anything like this,

Never so much as imagined anything quite like it—

What God has arranged for those who love him.

But you’ve seen and heard it because God by his Spirit has brought it all out into the open before you.

...God cares about you and wants you to know that.

Later, I watched the debates, and then turned on scripture, as I rested and fell asleep.

When I awoke, I began thinking about the Charismatic gifts and how unfortunate that it was that there were so few people able or even willing to teach on these weapons given to the church by God.

You see, most Church leaders have very few experiences in "Intercessory Prayer" for example,

Yet, intercessory Prayer is just one example of Prayer, nonetheless, one of the most needed kinds of Prayer in a time of "Crisis."

And the most effective praying is done by incorporating the Charismatic Gifts given to the Church.

Today, is a time of "crisis," both for the nation and for the church, yet no one would have a clue if they were to look at the daily operations of the church.

It's sort of like an Archie, Betty, Veronica and Jughead kind of world for them?.

Nevertheless, since the church has been spending most of the last two or three decades learning to develop the Old Testament, "tithing and giving" principles we find our church leaders, "buck naked."

I mean, look at them?

By chasing after the ancient secrets of "giving to get back," it's as if they have been using fancy needle work and stitching to create "The Emperors clothes."

Well, thank God, they finished them right as the nation is in it's darkest hours of crisis, because there they stand in all their "Glory."

Can you see them?

I do, and to be truthful, it's not a pretty site.

So, this is one of the reasons why Charismatic gifts are not being taught, another reason is that when one does try to teach the supernatural, he can be made to sound "crazy."

1 Corinthians 2:14-16 (MSG)

14-16 The unspiritual self, just as it is by nature, can't receive the gifts of God's Spirit. There's no capacity for them. They seem like so much silliness. Spirit can be known only by spirit-God's Spirit and our spirits in open communion. Spiritually alive, we have access to everything God's Spirit is doing, and can't be judged by unspiritual critics. Isaiah's question, "Is there anyone around who knows God's Spirit, anyone who knows what he is doing?" has been answered: Christ knows, and we have Christ Spirit.

Therefore, most "leaders" are afraid to venture out into that realm of teaching, because it could affect them financially and with respect to the many "natural men," who make up their congregations and will be most likely to judge them.

I am not one of the "Most," though, so I am going to share as I felt the Lord leading me to do tonight. I have shared these principles and experiences a few years back, but it has been quite awhile since mentioning them.

One of the reasons for this was because I haven't seriously "interceded" as probably as I should have for a number of years.

Now, please I am not talking about praying for a half hour here and a half hour there. I am talking about really "interceding" through hours and hours of deep meditative prayer and speaking in tongues for example at one sitting eight or ten hours straight non stop talking.

Two times, in my life, I have gone in the ring for a "season" and had these spiritual "bouts," against the devil and it seemed as if all hell had broke loose and had come looking for me to tear me apart limb by limb. And "but for the grace of God, I barely came through alive."

1 Corinthians 9:26 (NASB)
26 Therefore I run in such a way, as not without aim; I box in such a way, as not beating the air;

Well, if Paul wasn't beating the air, as he states here, what or who was he beating?

I was thinking of the many times that my community would come together and as we sang together in supernatural tongues, it was as if we all were lifted to the presence of God on occasion.

One of the most common phenomenon that we experienced as we slowly became drawn together in a supernatural way was the "Smell," of heavenly like flowers.

You see, we began our meetings with a few worship songs, and then maybe twenty minutes later, all of a sudden "as one," we all might begin a chorus of singing in tongues. Soon after that, maybe ten or twenty minutes into it, this most beautiful essence of heaven would envelope our entire meeting.

Having smelled it on more than a few occasions, I could never forget it.

In my mind, when I think about it, I imagine one being in the jungles of perhaps the Amazon, and there in the midst would be hundreds of the most unique Orchids growing wild.

Yet that couldn't possibly be more than a one per cent odor or scent of what we smelled, as this filled the atmosphere around us.

The very same is true, as when I witnessed myriads of angels ascending and descending from heaven, worshipping and singing non stop a heavenly song. This song or music was so incredibly beautiful that there are no earthly words to describe it. Nevertheless, as it was sung, it was as if the music reverberated through your soul and gave you a taste of heaven or eternity that would take a hundred life times to forget.

My point, however, in relating these experiences of over forty years ago, was to point out that when we were gathered together in unity, this was normally when the community or "body" would experience heavenly phenomenon. On a few occasions, it was as if we were lifted as one and taken to heaven itself.

These things are very hard to describe.

1 Corinthians 2:14 (NLT)

14 But people who aren't spiritual can't receive these truths from God's Spirit. It all sounds foolish to them and they can't understand it, for only those who are spiritual can understand what the Spirit means.

A few decades later, I happened to be at a ministry in South Carolina, and in attendance was a well known, "Prophet." I believe that it was one of my first times visiting that ministry, but the Prophet was in attendance.

He stated that night, that "He was going to take the congregation to heaven or something to that effect."

Well, a little later and we began a congregational meeting. We sang a few songs in worship and then soon he took the microphone. He began to sort of pray and to ask Jesus to lift us up into the heavens, to bring us into his presence.

Well, I was very familiar with his praying because I recognized right off that what he was doing was to get the congregation to focus on Jesus, on a purpose, on a destination, but more importantly on a "unified," mindset.

Where ever there are Corporate Charismatic gifts or supernatural phenomenon from heaven, there is always "unity" or it doesn't manifest.

So, as I am listening to this prophet, leading the congregation to an expected "Faith" purpose, I began to experience the same type of phenomenon that I had experienced in my community thirty years earlier. I even had a sense of the Heavenly aroma, as I described above.

Not of the same degree, but there was the same "heavenly scent."

I spent a number of other times being in the same meetings with him, yet I never witnessed him pray the same pray in order to "take" the congregation to heaven.

Unfortunately, what I did witness was many "leaders," conveniently use the man for their own purposes.

And as should be noted, just because a man is used of God as a "prophet," or in any other spiritual office, it does not make him infallible.

Nonetheless, what I am pointing out is that during supernatural intercession and prayer, the Holy Spirit of God will bring together in unity the different spirits of man for a common purpose.

The Holy Spirit is likened through the centuries, as like fire, wind and water.

John 7:37-39 (NLT)
37 On the last day, the climax of the festival, Jesus stood and shouted to the crowds, "Anyone who is thirsty may come to me! 38 Anyone who believes in me may come and drink! For the Scriptures declare, 'Rivers of living water will flow from his heart.'" 39 (When he said "living water," he was speaking of the Spirit, who would be given to everyone believing in him. But the Spirit had not yet been given, because Jesus had not yet entered into his glory.)

An analogy of what I am talking about is, as if you were to place twelve drops of water right next to each other and then took a fountain pen and pushed each drop into the next drop. At the end you would have one "body of water," instead of twelve different.

Well, this is what the Holy Spirit does to our "spirits," as we come together to worship him. And as each drop is united to the next there is an exponential growth of power that takes place. Just as twelve lakes might come together in a flood and then become a force to be reckoned with.

So, what I am saying as a congregation comes together in unity as one in intercession they become a much stronger force.

1 Corinthians 12:25-27 (NLT)

25 This makes for harmony among the members, so that all the members care for each other. 26 If one part suffers, all the parts suffer with it, and if one part is honored, all the parts are glad.
27 All of you together are Christ body, and each of you is a part of it.

There is another principle that I am aware of, yet I am very reluctant to write about it because this is surely one of those things where they will accuse you of being "Batty as Hell," to put it mildly. Nevertheless:

2 Corinthians 12:1-5 (NLT)

12 This boasting will do no good, but I must go on. I will reluctantly tell about visions and revelations from the Lord. 2 I was caught up to the third heaven fourteen years ago. Whether I was in my body or out of my body, I don't know-only God knows. 3 Yes, only God knows whether I was in my body or outside my body. But I do know 4 that I was caught up to paradise and heard things so astounding that they cannot be expressed in words, things no human is allowed to tell.

So, we see, the apostle Paul who spoke of a "third heaven."

Well, what this means according to many scholars is that there is a first heaven which is directly above us.
This is like the atmospheric heaven in which we can look up and see clouds and such.

Next, there is a second heaven which is directly under the third heaven.

The third heaven, of course, where the apostle is referring to "Paradise," and to "hearing things so astounding" must surely be of the heaven where God exists and where you must be Holy to enter.

So, the question remains, what is the significance of the "Second heaven?"

Well, according to Paul, you have to somehow pass through it to get to the third heaven, which obviously must be in the middle of our atmosphere and God's atmosphere of Holiness.

And the significance of it according to many Theologians is that it is where the devils, and demons exist and I guess the place where Satan and his angels landed as they were cast out of heaven?

Nevertheless, many times during "Intercessory Prayer," I believe that I have come against this, as I am sure many others have, as well.

I recall a particular time in my life where I would literally spend days non stop praying for hours in a Prayer Room. On numerous occasions, I would begin Praying in tongues for an hour or so, and it was as if I was enlarging my tent, or being lifted up to a much higher realm of Holiness.

It was almost as if my "spirit" was ascending through the heavens and being lifted up to the presence of God.

Nevertheless, in the beginning of these private times of Prayer, before my Praying became a regular practice, there would come a point where all of a sudden I would have the most deviant "thought" or a "few thoughts" pass through my mind.

This would also happen on occasion during Praise and Worship, sometimes.

The natural reaction was to always "retreat," from any further fervent prayer, though.

Eventually, however, I began to see a pattern and I realized that what was happening was that as my "spirit" was ascending toward the Holy realm or into "The shadow of the Almighty," I was being attacked by demons and devils.

Eventually, I quit "retreating," and instead of "feeling guilt or shame" for those thoughts that were attacking my mind, I realized that they were like arrows or darts being thrown at me, thus I rebuked them and I pleaded the "blood of Jesus" to continue into the "Holy Place."

Subsequently, as I rebuked these demons and devils coming against me, I would ultimately come to rest in what I use to call, "The secret place, or the shadow of the Almighty."

And it was there where I heard the "Secret things of the Most High God."

Psalm 91:1-13 The Message (MSG)

91 1-13 You who sit down in the High God’s presence,
spend the night in Shaddai’s shadow,
Say this: “God, you’re my refuge.
I trust in you and I’m safe!”
That’s right—he rescues you from hidden traps,
    shields you from deadly hazards.
His huge outstretched arms protect you—
    under them you’re perfectly safe;
his arms fend off all harm.
Fear nothing—not wild wolves in the night,
not flying arrows in the day,

Lastly, as you begin to learn about "the things of God," you learn that time and distance is irrelevant in the Kingdom of God.

Just as I gave an example of twelve drops of water becoming "one body," of water that then results in a mighty force, so it is with the "Spirit."

For instance, I believe that through a media source, such as the internet, a person could join a Prayer Room, and lock his "spirit" unto that small "body of believers" six hundred and thirty miles away.

Of course, there would have to be sound, such as worship or Praise when God unites a congregation of worshippers together.

Nonetheless, what this would mean for the church is that an individual or individuals could form a Prayer Room, without having a 501c3 status, and could pray non stop specifically for every Congressman, Senator, soon to be Justice, or President of the United States by name in order to save our country.

And as Christians around the country, joined in harmony and in unity they could become a mighty force upon the earth, as they would all be united toward a common goal and a destination of  righteous governance.

I mean, they wouldn't have to be "secretive," or "afraid."

They could stand up as the "men of God," that God has called them to be and they could pray a prayer such as this, "Lord Jesus Christ, we are asking you to come and to intercede on behalf of Amy Coney Barrette, that she may not be persecuted in the manner in which our modern politicians persecute your righteous servants of today."

That's all it would take if it were prayed on behalf of those twelve lakes that had overflowed and become one mighty force of righteousness.

In such manner, all a pastor would have to do is to say, to his congregation, "Oh yea, I saw an interesting Prayer Group, on the Net last

night...but Please, don't try to send them an offering because they won't lower them selves to accept it."

For this Prayer Group is empowered by the Holy Spirit of God and not financed by the restrictive bondage of those other forces!

Post Script:

I realize that some of what I am sharing sounds really off the wall, such as breaking through the "second heaven," in intercession. Nonetheless, I would like to explain that the most influential purpose of Prayer  is to touch the Father's heart.

The way that Jesus taught us to pray, as recorded in Luke was :

Luke 11:2-4 (MSG)

2-4 So he said, "When you pray, say,
Father,
Reveal who you are.
Set the world right.
Keep us alive with three square meals.
Keep us forgiven with you and forgiving others.
Keep us safe from ourselves and the Devil."

So, Jesus was saying in effect, "become familiar with the Father that he might reveal his nature to you."

This is why I have shared my experiences in Prayer in numerous papers, no matter how bizarre they may seem.

You see, when you learn to utilize the weapons that God has given you such as a spiritual language and the gift of tongues to battle those forces which come against you, then you are exercising "Faith."

And we know that without Faith, it is impossible to please God, therefore "exercising Faith pleases God."

Hebrews 11:6 (NASB)

6 And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.

The bible also teaches:

Romans 14:23 (NASB)

23 But he who doubts is condemned if he eats, because his eating is not from faith; and whatever is not from faith is sin.

So, to apply this in "Prayer," it would mean, "whenever the devil entices you to shrink back from seeking God with all of your heart, then it is very similar to 'sin.'"

Yet, to go forward in "Faith," is what pleases the Father.

Now, please understand that I am not saying that this "sin" will condemn you or that some day you are going to hell, because you weren't more "fervent" in Prayer,

I am only saying that there is a universal truth taught in the Bible, that when you shrink back on anything while pursuing God it is likened to "sin."

Hebrews 10:39 (NASB)

39 But we are not of those who shrink back to destruction, but of those who have faith to the preserving of the soul.

James 4:17 (NASB)
17 Therefore, to one who knows the right thing to do and does not do it, to him it is sin.

And so, when I write about my experiences in Prayer such as being attacked in your mind with evil thoughts, while pursuing the "Secret Place of a Holy God," it is not meant to be weird.

Furthermore, if the American church leaders promoted or taught on Prayer, I would not have to be "putting myself out on a limb" by sounding weird and bizarre.

Nevertheless, the scripture rings true:

1 Corinthians 2:14-16 (NASB)

14 But a natural man does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually appraised. 15 But he who is spiritual appraises all things, yet he himself is appraised by no one. 16 For who has known the mind of the Lord, that he will instruct Him?

But we have the mind of Christ.
