10 His disciples came and asked him, “Why do you use parables when you talk to the people?”
11 He replied, “You are permitted to understand the secrets of the Kingdom of Heaven, but others are not.
12 To those who listen to my teaching, more understanding will be given, and they will have an abundance of knowledge. But for those who are not listening, even what little understanding they have will be taken away from them.
13 That is why I use these parables,
For they look, but they don’t really see.
They hear, but they don’t really listen or understand.
14 This fulfills the prophecy of Isaiah that says,
‘When you hear what I say,
you will not understand.
When you see what I do,
you will not comprehend.
15 For the hearts of these people are hardened,
and their ears cannot hear,
and they have closed their eyes—
so their eyes cannot see,
and their ears cannot hear,
and their hearts cannot understand,
and they cannot turn to me
and let me heal them.’
16 “But blessed are your eyes, because they see; and your ears, because they hear.
17 I tell you the truth, many prophets and righteous people longed to see what you see, but they didn’t see it. And they longed to hear what you hear, but they didn’t hear it.
18 “Now listen to the explanation of the parable...

I have been talking about how I listen to scriptures while I sleep. Well, I have done this for a few decades. When I had eight track tapes, I would even hook up a car eight track and run it through a 12 volt Dc hook up. I can't recall all of the ways that I have listened to them, but it used to be a lot of work finding the machine that was going to loop them, and then play consistently for hours on end.
Nevertheless, I use to figure it out because I loved the scriptures. It was almost three years ago, however, when I bought a little speaker off Amazon and this thing does it all. It takes a Micro Mini Card or what they call a TF Card.
Well, I have two of these and one holds a TF Card with the New Testament. Right around 485 MB, although it is a two Gigabyte Card.
The other one holds another two Gig Card with the Old Testament. I believe that it takes up 1.8 Gigabytes.
Anyway, I had already bought the Bible on MP 3, a few years before, so I just Dragged and Dropped the scriptures to each card.
When I purchased these scriptures, I specifically ordered a set recorded by an individual named "Red Jeffries."
This man has a masculine voice and is a very good speaker. He is very easily understood and the NASB Bible which he records is one of the most literal translations. You see, I have heard other versions of recorded scriptures, but I am a little particular.
You see, I don't want to listen to scriptures if they are spoken by a high-pitched individual or if they sound as if they might have been recorded in between Broadway Plays.
Forget the music background, forget the ascetics, just give me a raw sounding recording as if Paul might have read them or another strong disciple.
Well, I paid a hundred dollars for my set, but they have come down considerably. Of course, there are other versions or narrators, but I like "Red Jeffries."
As an afterthought, you could probably check some out at the library or purchase online for as cheap as ten or twenty dollars. Often people will even sell them used on Ebay.
Concerning this little player that I have been using for the last three years, today, I went on Amazon and the price has hardly changed than what I paid three years ago, on a February 29th, a Leap year.
I thought it only took a 2 gb card like some of my other MP 3, from a few years back, but today I was reading the description and it stated that it will take a higher capacity SD Card. I found an extra 16GB Micro Card in my Camera Case that had some music from like ten years ago, and it played it with no problems.
What I like best about this player is that it only needs to be charged around two hours and then it will run for as much as a couple of nights. This is verified by the "Questions," posted concerning the product.
I guess you could record music and jump song to song, but it is not like you can listen to Genesis and the next night FF to Jeremiah. There is no indicator of where or what you are F. Forwarding too, and it takes a while. A few months ago, I wanted to jump to a different book of the Bible and found it very difficult. No, what I do is to just stick the recording in the unit and play it night after night looping it back to the beginning of either the NT or the OT.
It has two buttons that will either raise or lower the voice or Fast Forward and reverse. A slow press will adjust the volume, while a long press will FF or Reverse.
So, if you just need something to play scriptures at night, however, this is perfect. You simply turn it on and it will play all night from Genesis to maybe First Chronicles, then you turn it off and when you turn it back on it will pick up where it left off. It does this day after day until it loops back to the beginning again and then starts the process all over.
I have let it charge as much as two days and it has never over charged. I did have one in the beginning that might have overcharged, but since then I never charge higher than with a 5 Volt, 1 amp charger, which is your typical charger or the power you would receive should you plug into your laptop. So this is also another feature. When you load it with scriptures, you are also welcome to edit to whatever you wish to listen too. When I first recorded sometimes, I would leave Revelation out, because there wasn't any urgency to learn about the End Times. Today, is very much different though, you better listen to End Time Scripture because the urgency is getting shorter and shorter.
Nevertheless, if all you wanted to listen to the Psalms, then you simply drag and drop only the Psalms on your card. If you wanted only Proverbs, you would also do likewise.
What you are doing is that you are feeding your "spirit man," with the wisdom of the ages. You are eating what satisfies, bread can never satisfy, the "Word of God" can. Even Jesus spoke this to us.
Today, I was looking for something and came across my old Coby MP201-2G, MP 3's, previous to listening to this Allway Speaker for three years, I would use those MP3's. I had, maybe eight, that I had purchased on Ebay for probably ten dollars a piece, They were way obsolete to the newer technology, so their sale price was like almost giving them away. Next, I would download to each one part of the Bible. On one the New Testament, on another proverbs to Malachi 4. Then I had Genesis to First Samuel 28. On a few others I had numerous Sermons, on another Music. These measure 2 3/4 x 1 1/4 x 3/4ths of an inch. Mostly, I wore out the New Testament one, but I listened to these probably for five to seven years, even when I was on the road, I always had a copy of at least the New Testament, no bigger than the Bic Lighter that I carried in my pocket as a teenager.
Again, my point in writing this is to let Christians in this generation to know and to understand the richness that God has given to these last day warriors. Trust me, we are entering an age where you better know the Word of God, if you hope to walk through it.
Lastly, the greatest feature of this Allway Player, is that it measures about Two inches, by Two inches, by Two inches.
Again, charges two hours, plays for a few days. Will hold up to 16 GB, which is a few hundred CD's, at least. But it will play nightly on your table the "Word Of God," for years. I purchased two in the beginning and one maybe a year later. Still, have two. Strictly bought and used for SCRIPTURE, both Old and New Testament, which I play almost every night of the year, and sometimes day. Also, if you forget to charge it you can charge it as it plays.
Nevertheless, if you absolutely had to use it for music, you would simply pop out the Bible Micro SD Card, and place a Music Card in.
It is so small you can slip in purse, backpack or even pocket on a pair of Carpenter pants.
Lastly, this thing is loud! For some reason, my Bible recordings were recorded loud, so what I do when turning on is that I hold this little sucker to my chest to muffle the sound, then my left hand will turn it on, while my right hand is ready to press consistently ten times in two seconds the negative volume button.
Seriously, you can easily hear this from the other side of the room in almost any setting.
"But...but...but, I don't know if I can afford it...."

44 “The Kingdom of Heaven is like a treasure that a man discovered hidden in a field. In his excitement, he hid it again and sold everything he owned to get enough money to buy the field.
45 “Again, the Kingdom of Heaven is like a merchant on the lookout for choice pearls. 46 When he discovered a pearl of great value, he sold everything he owned and bought it!
47 “Again, the Kingdom of Heaven is like a fishing net that was thrown into the water and caught fish of every kind. 48 When the net was full, they dragged it up onto the shore, sat down, and sorted the good fish into crates, but threw the bad ones away. 49 That is the way it will be at the end of the world. The angels will come and separate the wicked people from the righteous, 50 throwing the wicked into the fiery furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. 51 Do you understand all these things?”
“Yes,” they said, “we do.”
52 Then he added, “Every teacher of religious law who becomes a disciple in the Kingdom of Heaven is like a homeowner who brings from his storeroom new gems of truth as well as old.”
53 When Jesus had finished telling these stories and illustrations, he left that part of the country. 54 He returned to Nazareth, his hometown. When he taught there in the synagogue, everyone was amazed and said, “Where does he get this wisdom and the power to do miracles?” 55 Then they scoffed, “He’s just the carpenter’s son, and we know Mary, his mother, and his brothers—James, Joseph, Simon, and Judas. 56 All his sisters live right here among us. Where did he learn all these things?” 57 And they were deeply offended and refused to believe in him.
Then Jesus told them, “A prophet is honored everywhere except in his own hometown and among his own family.” 58 And so he did only a few miracles there because of their unbelief.
Post Script: Hey, I am sorry, I forgot to to mention that this little "Pearl," can also be used as a Bluetooth Speaker all alone for your Cell Phone, which is also a great asset to have. Size two by two by two, how can you go wrong for fifteen dollars?
